U11-U18 Seals A Hockey

SBMHA Seals teams play in a city-wide division under Hockey Winnipeg, which includes City Playoffs directly following the regular season.

After registration closes (and U11 players have had the opportunity for their practice skates as outlined in the U11 Player Pathway), SBMHA coordinates evaluations to determine the placement of players – see full information in the SBMHA Player Selection and Team Formation Process.

The total number of registered players will determine the number of teams that will be formed based on guidelines by Hockey Winnipeg. More information on team numbers and minimum/maximum roster sizes can be found in Hockey Winnipeg's Rule Book.

In 2023-2024, new levels have been added  to allow teams to be more skill-balanced. The new A hockey levels are as follows:

• U11 - A1A, A1B, A2A, A2B, A3
• U13 - A1, A2A, A2B, A3
• U15 - A1A*, A1B*, A2A, A2B
• U18 - A1A*, A1B*, A2A, A2B

* For U15 and U18, A1A and A1B are with body contact and A2A and A2B are without body contact.

Please note that SBMHA has many players in our catchment and therefore many teams. We require a large number of coaches for our program to run and our players to have a fun, successful season. To find out more about coaching, please review our coaching information page.
